Indonesia Infrastructure

The Indonesia International Infrastructure Organization which hosts a Conference and Exhibit (IIICE) is something anyone who lives in Jakarta and is concerned with infrastructure issues should be aware of and follow if not attend.  The Conference & Exhibit will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center on April 12 -14, 2011.  See link above for full details.

"IIICE 2011 is the most influential infrastructure conference and exhibition in Indonesia in both scope and scale. Building off of the prior success of Infrastructure Asia (IA) 2010 held in Jakarta, Indonesia International Infrastructure 2011 will highlight infrastructure on the provincial as well as the national level.

With the vast size, resources, and geographic layout of Indonesia, it is easy to understand how the life critical infrastructure sectors are of such importance and interest to both the public and private sectors.  With a steadily improving and stable investment climate and an ever increasing global profile, Indonesia is growing in stature regionally and internationally each year.  In 2009 Indonesia had a GDP of over USD $550 Billion and is currently the fastest growing and largest economy in Southeast Asia.

Indonesia is the only Southeast Asian country included in the G-20, and during the global economic crisis Indonesia joined China and India as the only three G-20 countries posting growth.  Last year the Indonesian economy grew by 4.5%, a number which is expected to reach 5.6% in 2010, and 6.5% in 2011.  Economically strong, politically stable, and reform minded Indonesia is an emerging global powerhouse in Asia."
